1. Prelims / Objective Stage

Screening & Scoring

The first hurdle. For KAS, this is purely qualifying. For FDA/SDA and Police exams, these marks heavily impact your final merit.

KPSC (KAS/Group C): General Studies I & II (State & National).
KEA (FDA/SDA): General Knowledge & General English/Kannada.
KSP (PSI/PC): Objective Paper 2 (Mental Ability, Current Affairs).

2. Mains, Descriptive & Physicals

Merit Deciding Stage

This stage tests your in-depth knowledge, language proficiency, and physical endurance depending on the department.

  • 📝 Descriptive Papers: KAS Mains (Essay, GS, Optionals), KEA Compulsory Kannada, KSP Paper 1 (Translation & Essay).
  • 🏃‍♂️ Physical Tests (KSP only): Endurance Test (ET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) for Police candidates.
  • ⚠️ Compulsory Kannada language paper is mandatory for almost all state govt jobs!

3. Interview & Document Verification

Candidates are called in ratios like 1:3 or 1:5 based on written marks. KAS involves a Personality Test, while KEA and Group C posts usually proceed directly to Document Verification.
