1. Written Examination (CBE)

Merit Deciding

Depending on the force and level (GD, CPO, or AC), this is a Computer Based Exam testing your core knowledge. Your score here determines your final rank.

• General Intelligence
• General Knowledge
• Mathematics/Quant
• English/Hindi

2. Physical Standards & Efficiency (PST/PET)

Strict Elimination

Candidates who clear the written exam cut-off are called for physical tests. This stage is strictly qualifying, but failing any parameter means immediate disqualification.

  • PST: Measurement of Height, Chest (for males), and Weight.
  • PET: Race/Endurance events (e.g., 5km run for males, 1.6km for females).
  • Note: Ex-servicemen are usually exempt from PET but must pass PST.

3. Detailed Medical Exam (DME) & DV

Candidates qualifying the physical tests undergo a rigorous medical check-up by Medical Officer Boards to ensure they are physically and mentally fit for duty. Document Verification (DV) happens simultaneously.
