1. CBT Stage 1 (Prelims)

Qualifying Only

This is a screening test. The marks obtained here help you reach Stage 2 but are not counted toward the final merit list.

  • Mode: Online (Computer Based Test)
  • Type: Objective (MCQs)
  • Subjects:
    • Mathematics
    • General Intelligence & Reasoning
    • General Awareness
  • Negative Marking: 1/3 mark deducted for each wrong answer

Note: CBT 1 is qualifying in nature. Marks are not counted in final merit.

2. CBT Stage 2 (Mains)

High Priority

Candidates shortlisted from CBT 1 appear for CBT 2. This is the most important stage as marks obtained here are considered for final selection.

  • Mode: Online
  • Difficulty level: Higher than CBT 1
  • Post-specific questions
  • Negative marking applicable

Performance in CBT 2 plays a major role in final merit list.

3. Skill / Aptitude Test

Some RRB posts require candidates to appear for a skill test or aptitude test. This stage is qualifying in nature.
